Zino Afiegbe, Managing Partner

Zino is an experienced business development and relationship management executive, hands-on digital payments practitioner and motivational educator. With over 17 years experience working with leading financial institutions towards developing digital payments adoption in Africa, Zino has been an active player and driver in the evolution of payments on the continent. As an expert who began his career as an ‘Electronic Payments Field Officer’, Zino is a die-hard advocate of getting “down and dirty”, going into the field and engaging directly with end-users with a view to returning to the laboratory to perfect any propositions. A team player and frontline leader, Zino recently completed a successful stint as Visa’s Country Manager for Ghana & Nigeria and Acting Country Director for West Africa, where he drove the proliferation of payments and alternative channels and grew profitability for Visa and partner institutions over a 5-year period (2013 to 2018). Zino Afiegbe was the first and sole African nominated to and inducted into Visa University as a facilitator and trainer, in May 2018. He brings to CCL a compendium of knowledge bolstered by training interventions from the prestigious Lagos Business School and Visa’s Leadership Development Program, partly facilitated by INSEAD’s Professor Subi Rangan.

As a lead partner in CCL, Zino is poised for the next phase of Africa’s digitization, which hinges significantly on knowledge capital and dependable structures for payments facilitation by stakeholder institutions.
